The old idea of youth work could be summed up very simply - keep kids off the streets. It didn't matter what they were doing as long as they were doing it under adult supervision. The modern approach is different and seems more successful. Irish teenagers respond much better to a positive challenge and enjoy getting the opportunity of doing something positive to help the community they live in.
