"Spanish Ale" traces Irish historical links with
Spain. Santiago de Compostella, which attracted
many medieval Irish pilrims. Corunna, the Spanish
port from where the "lnvincible Armada" was launched
only to perish off Ireland's western coast, and
Simancas, the castle where Red Hugh was allegedly
poisoned. The high point of the tour is Salamanca,
where Irish priests were trained for more than
three centuries. Commentary by Cardinal Tomas
O Fiaich.
